Based out of Hillsburgh, Ontario, the unstoppable family behind Hillerin Farm has made quite a name for themselves in the Quarter Horse racing industry over the last 50 years. Originally spearheaded by Carol and Bryn Robertson, the 100-acre operation that breeds and develops Quarter Horses has accomplished standout racing results in the past year.
Hillerin Farm is a full-family affair, which includes their son Michael as a professional farrier and trainer, while daughter-in-law Jaime manages the horses’ care.
Most notably, their 5-year-old Quarter Horse gelding, Had to Be Ivory, has had a breakout career in the past two years, receiving the Quarter Horse of the Year award at the annual AQHA Racing Champions of 2019 two consecutive years as well as winning the 2019 Quarter Racing Owners of Ontario Horse of the Year award. A stakes winner at 2, 3 and 4-years-old, Had To Be Ivory, has won 11 of the 14 starts and has earned over $162,000.
